Cup Match: Akamas Mandria vs Thoi Lakatamias

A 2-hour bus trip to the west side of Cyprus; Pafos. I started and played the full game at right centre-back in a back 4. I had a slow start to the game, just trying to find my rhythm as I haven’t had many first-team minutes as of recently. I picked up a yellow card early on but following that I had a solid game. I played good long balls as we tried taking advantage of the big field we were playing on, and defended well with my defensive line. In the second half, I had a chance at the second post from an in-swinging corner and my header hit the post… I had the same chance 5 minutes later and scored, putting us 1-0 up and going on to eventually winning the game 1-0. The final 20 minutes of the game was end-to-end, but we held on against a good team who had good chances to score, as did we. Very postitive and hopefully something to earn some more minutes to close-out the second half of the season.
