Coca Cola 3rd/4th Division Cup Semi-Final Leg 2: E.N. Thoi Lakatamias vs P.O Ormidias

3 -1 down heading into this 2nd leg, hopes where held strong in that we could grab 2 goals back to level the fixture and go on to win it.

The match was evenly fought in the first half, but not many big chances for either side. We (Thoi) conceded a penalty in the 30th minute which put us 1 - 0 down in the game, and 4 - 1 down on aggregate, we were left with a mountain to climb. We had a clear penalty not awarded to us at the end of the first half, the same level of contact for which the opposing penalty was given against us. The penalty would’ve undoubtedly shifted momentum and given us a chance, but it wasn’t meant to be.

The second half was even once more, and not many clear-cut chances for either team. We played the better football and got the ball into more threatening areas, but we couldn’t convert or make any clear efforts on goal. The game died down, as hope for a comeback did, and the match finished 1 - 0 to Ormidias, ending our cup run in the semi-finals. It was a good run of games and very enjoyable and important regardless of all the antics, but we simply lost to the better team in the two matches. Now we focus on the championship and our remaining 6 matches to avoid relegation and stay in the Cypriot 3rd division.
